Fall 2023 Updates

Our plan for fencing this fall semester.

Schedule

Practices will be 8-10pm Monday thru Thursday in the basement gym of IM West starting Tuesday, September 5th (No practice Monday due to holiday). But we have some events before that. 

  • Thursday August 24th Recfest 7-10pm IM West AND IM East: Come say hi at our tables!
  • Sunday August 27th Sparticipation 4-8pm IM East Field: Come say hi at our table! 
  • Monday August 28th Returner Picnic 6pm Beaumont Tower Lawn: Bring snacks and drinks, and outdoor activities if you have them RETURNERS ONLY
  • Tuesday August 29th: Newbie Open House 8-10pm NEWBIES AND OFFICERS ONLY
  • Wednesday August 30th/Thursday August 31st OPEN FENCING

General Reminders

  • Armory and cabinet may only be opened by officers, captains, and the armorer. Please ask for assistance and make sure the doors are shut behind you. 
  • Dues will be $60 per semester, payable to Nick or via Venmo
  • Gear may be borrowed and returned daily until your dues are paid. Once dues are paid, you may bring a bag for keeping a jacket and underarm guard in the cabinet. 
  • Don’t forget to renew your free IM West membership!

Coaches

Please welcome Ben back as our head coach for another year! Beth, Chuku, and Allen will also be returning as assistant coaches. When you see them in the gym, be sure to introduce yourself and ask any questions you may have.

Upcoming Events

  • Wednesday September 13th: Blaze Pizza Fundraiser 4-7pm
  • Saturday October 7th: Newbie Tournament (One year of experience or less) IM West Basement. Register on AskFRED. Returners will be expected to referee, it is an unsanctioned event. 
  • Sunday October 8th: Red Cedar Rumble 3-Weapon Open. IM West Basement. Register on AskFRED. We need referees for this too!
